چکیده

Objective: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a pathological condition resulting from atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries. Besides traditional risk factors, genetic factors such as single nucleotide polymorphs (SNPs) can be involve process. Inflammation plays role changes throughout atherosclerosis, initiation to progress. In this study, we aimed evaluate effects of lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1) K167N polymorphism, inflammation, and lipid status patients with bypass grafting (CABG). Material Methods: The study population consisted 129 CAD who had undergone CABG, 71 healthy controls. LOX-1 polymorphism was genotyped using PCR-RFLP technique. Plasma interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-33 (IL-33) levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits. Results: distribution genotypes alleles did not differ significantly between CABG There no significant differences plasma IL-1β, TNF- α, IL-33, HDL-C, LDL-C IL-1β systolic blood pressure values higher KK genotype compared same controls(P<0.05). Similarly, pressures NK controls (P<0.01). Conclusions: found post while inflammatory markers profiles selected according allele distributions groups. Although couldn’t find an assocation other than high BP our studies larger sample sizes might reveal relation.

Is LOX-1 K167N polymorphism protective for coronary artery disease?

BACKGROUND Human lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1 (LOX-1, OLR1) has been identified as a cell surface endocytosis receptor for oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) on vascular endothelial cells. OxLDLs are avidly ingested by macrophages, resulting in foam cell formation. OxLDLs are also involved in inducing smooth muscle cell migration, proliferation and transformatio...

Decreased lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1) and low Nrf2 activation in placenta are involved in preeclampsia.

CONTEXT Serum concentration of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) is higher in women with preeclampsia than in normal pregnant woman. Lectin-like oxLDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) is one of the scavenger receptors for oxLDL and is abundantly expressed in placenta. It is well known that oxLDL activates nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), a master regulator of antioxidant and cytopro...

Linoleic acid increases lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) expression in human aortic endothelial cells.

Results from in vitro studies suggest that selected fatty acids, and especially linoleic acid (LA), can elicit endothelial dysfunction (ED). Because LA is increased in all LDL subfractions in patients with type 2 diabetes, this alteration may contribute to ED associated with diabetes. Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) is the major endothelial receptor for oxidized LDL (oxLDL), and upt...

Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 is a cell-adhesion molecule involved in endotoxin-induced inflammation.

Lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1) is a major endothelial receptor for oxidized low-density lipoprotein, and is assumed to play a proatherogenic role in atherosclerosis. LOX-1 expression is induced by inflammatory cytokines as well as by proatherogenic stimuli. LOX-1 protein binds agedapoptotic cells, activated platelets, and bacteria, suggesting that it may have di...

Lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1) and cardiac fibroblast growth.

Lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1) regulates growth of a variety of cells and is important in inflammation, oxidative stress, and tissue remodeling. Recent studies show that LOX-1 deletion limits cardiac remodeling after sustained hypertension. We posited that LOX-1 may affect cardiac fibroblast growth and collagen secretion. To examine this postulate, we studied gr...
